Just call me Sparky

My Dad has never been a subtle man. His steps were very recognizable as he ascended the steps to the second floor. It was uncanny. How in the world did he know I was connected with this? How did he know to come to my room first? Why was my name the first thing on his lips? Through the door he came. “Reid! What did you do?” was the question.

I can’t handle the truth.
Psalms 51:6 says “Behold, you delight in truth in the inward being, and you teach me wisdom in the secret heart.”
This stuff about truth in the inward being scares me. Can’t I just go on thinking nice things about myself and leave it at that? Nope.

Ramblings on moralistic preaching
We’re afraid to say things are wrong simply because God says so. So in cases like premarital sex for instance, we talk all about broken relationships, STD’s, AIDS etc., as though that’s WHY God says its wrong - rather than the fact that God alone determines what is right or wrong, whether anything has tangible, outward negative results or no.
So what’s wrong with moralistic preaching? Here’s a couple of ideas.
